Godly Presence at Show

Father Andrew O'Connor presided ovea a"wedding" at designer Tar Subkoff's Imitation of Christ presentation at the W Hotel union Suater yesterday afternoon, where Lydia Hearst played the bride. But it's not O'Connor's first foray into the fashion world -- he runs Goods of Conscience, a Guatemala-sourced sustainable-fabric clothing manufacturer that made a pair of shorts Cameron Diaz wore on Bogue's cover two years ago. O'Connor, a priest at The Bronx's Holy Family Parish, held his own presentation at The Plaza last February, but is unsure when he'll so another. "These [shows] are expensive," said O'Connor, who liked Subkoff;s vintage bridal inspired collection. "I saw a nice mixture of diaphanous fabrics…I like the soulfulness of the appliqué and the embroidery," he said. Subkoff;s boyfriend Tom Hooper, sat front row and praised her direction, saying, "She's very good in the zone. It's more hectic because it's live. If it were a film you could change this or that.:

"In Christianity, really only one person is saved, The Bride. We all need to be woven into that dress that signifies our victory over death, defeating our ego, forsaking self out of love for her in our neighbor. It is Christ loving her and we, imitating Christ, are made into something new. On that day, when the Bride is revealed, every tear shall be wiped away and the sea will be no more and a new heaven and a new earth will be fashioned in our midst. Until that day imitate Christ for one another."
