Amigos, A simple uniform for a Mayan child means a future full of hope. A uniform made from their own cloth and made in New York saves a civilization.
Put on your social fabric™ and light the night. See your social fabric™ dance across the face of Old St. Patrick’s down in New York’s Little Italy, the home of immigrant hope. Goods of Conscience™’s second annual illumination of Old St. Patrick’s will be exactly 40 days after Christmas: Candlemas. This year we will include a video art work that will include you. If you do not have a social fabric™ garment we will provide a “pallium” for you and a beeswax candle. Arrive promptly at 6pm. The outdoor portion of the event will only last a half hour. Old Saint Patrick's Cathedral churchyard may be entered only on Mott Street.
Process into the dim church with candles. Evensong lets you experience singing together. Even if you claim you can’t sing this will make you sound good. Please be prepared to donate at least $25 toward the effort of making uniforms, satchels for supplies and an allotment of food for children in Guatemala’s mountain towns where recent conditions have pushed malnutrition toward 80% (Economist August 27, 2009)
Step down through a side stairway into the historic crypt of the first cathedral of New York. Let us better explain why getting a uniform made of the Mayan’s famous cloth sewn in New York would make such a big difference. Let us refresh you.
